Our Work: Corporate Reporting Roundtable

About the Corporate Reporting Roundtable

Awareness and uptake of sustainability reporting has increased dramatically in recent years, and many organizations consider sustainability reporting to be a beneficial tool.

Measuring and reporting material issues assists organizations to identify risks and opportunities and report to their stakeholders. It also encourages innovation for growth and survival and increases transparency to attract investment.

However, for sustainability reporting to become mainstream business activity, growth needs to be exponential. Even in uncertain economic times, increasingly global business operations and greater stakeholder demands have marked an inflection point for corporate reporting. At the same time, business value is heavily influenced by a company's strategy, plans and operations.

In alliance, GRI Focal Point Australia and SBA, are expanding the corporate sustainability agenda to include governance on risks associated with social and environmental impacts. The alliance will focus on assisting organisations to identify value, to mitigate risks, innovate governance practices and to drive strategy without fear.

Role and expected outcomes

GRIFPA and SBA are working together to forge a voice on the need for a national policy framework for disclosing information including governance on risks associated with social and environmental impacts, and for reasons explaining why companies do not. They are working to ensure all factors that affect business profitability and sustainability are measured and transparent.
